ReplyDeleteWeather in Philippines news
Live storm tracking with Google Earth in future videos featured on this Blog. The application will be used to show the exact center of the storm in real time.
ReplyDeletehere is the explanation so you may try.
Now, Typhoon Storm Watch 2012 will use Google Earth, the pinpoint the exact, 100% accurate, live location of the storm.
TSW2012's NEW method:
I move my mouse over the center of the storm on Google Earth, with "weather on"
Google Earth than shows the coordinates of where my mouse it, in which the center of the storm.
Compared, with JTWC, or JMA's live coordinates of the storm, it shows the storms's center of circulation very differently.
Please share you views about this new thing!

Thanks for you comment, how would you use my blog for? ☉‿☉
DeleteThank you very much for your coverage of the Philippines. As an American living in the US with friends living in the Philippines it is a great service you do to inform me of the weather conditions and typhoons as they happen.
ReplyDeleteThank You. I'm sorry if the information isn't updated frequent enough, but i'll guarantee you that information in this blog is reliable.
DeleteFor example: I predicted 3 tropical systems to form in the western northpacifc the result: Almost accurate, however the new storm: Tropical Storm Rumbia just formed a few days ago, just a few days away from July, so my forecast wasn't so bad at all.
Thank you very much. This site really helps me before I travel and it can predict possible airline cancellations because of typhoons.
ReplyDeleteThank you for you views. Your views and comments will help me improve my site even more!
DeleteThis is a well designed site - sometimes simple is best! I have family living in Taiwan and I will be travelling there this year so now I have somewhere from which to keep a weather eye open. Thanks! Interesting that HK is cooler then London today - must be all that stormy cloud.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate site and go on because it is informative
ReplyDeleteThis site is really helpful. I am from the philippines,I would like to ask if you can site any typhoons coming until the end of august this year? This would really help us prepare before it hits us here, we just recently hit by typhoon Maring for the last 3 days.
ReplyDeleteA Tropical Disturbance is expected to develop in the Philippine sea by August 24, and has a 70% chance of becoming a Tropical Depression, and is currently expected to move slowly northwards, only brushing the eastern part of the Philippines with winds of 30km/h. For the whole of Philippines, no significant change in weather is expected, however the disturbance could intensify into a TD or TS, and even if it doesn't impact the Philippines, it's clouds will, and it could enhance rain-bringing thunderstorms across central Philippines.
DeleteThank you so much for your immediate response i really appreciate it. I will be monitoring your site from time to time this is really awesome!! :)
DeleteAt the start of September, A Tropical Storm should form in the Philippine sea, and may directly impact northern Philippines. Even if not, it will bring slightly windier weather and rain to the Philippines.
DeleteHi TSW, will there be a south westmonsoon seen as well? because last week (august 18-20) we had a TS but not that strong, the problem is the TS is impacting the south west monsoon, that gave a big impact to us like floodings everywhere and gave 3 days of heavy rains. Thanks for the update.
DeleteYes, TS Kong-rey 14w, is already pulling rain, and thunder-bringing convection across the Philippines from the South China sea. This is a enhanced southwest monsoon.
DeleteI live in Japan. This site is very helpful! Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteVery good site, what are your pedictions on the potential storm next week(16th sep),I noticed your report has downgraded the system becoming a major typhoon(no more mention of a it becoming a cat 5) Do u think it will vear up towards japan or head west towards the Philippines or will it dissapate, thanks
ReplyDeleteIt should not affect the Philippines, and should intensify into a category 1 or two typhoon before hitting Japan. The computer model also shows that a new system could form afterwards, and it should head towards Taiwan, brushing the Philippines with a bit more than usual rain.
DeleteBut I cannot always be 100% sure.
Thanks for the update,Any speed or direction on that new storm would be much appreciated in the coming days,By the look of the cloud formation,it looks like it could be a fairly large system, hope it stays in the ocean
ReplyDeleteYep, it would be available when the Japan Meteorological Agency certifies the system as a Tropical Depression.
DeleteAnd it is completely wrong to judge the size of a storm by looking at it when it is still developing.
An example was Typhoon Jelawat of 2013. Jelawat was originally a small tropical depression about the size of two Taiwans.
But in the end, it became a roaring, powerful super typhoon which brushed the Philippines.
But the latest GFS computer model run has shown that it will become a fairly large and strong typhoon, possibly reaching category 4 status. But it always changes. Maybe it may be stronger or weaker, maybe it will hit Japan, or China.
Such a useful site and so simply illustrated. Leaving London for Hanoi tomorrow (rain to heavy rain?) and then to Taiwan. Thanks for your hard work.
ReplyDeleteIt's sunny in Hanoi, with a few scattered showers. But for Taiwan, while it is currently sunny, the GFS computer model is now forecasting the weak system, named Invest 93w will become a category 2 typhoon that will hit Taiwan, before hitting southern China by September 18~19, bringing heavy rain and strong winds.
DeleteAnd by that time, all air flights will be cancelled.
But it is hard to say whether or not if it is really gonna happen.
Your replies and comments are very much appreciated.
Hi there. So do you think this next storm will not vear north to japan but head west towards taiwan at only cat 2? Any idea wether it will move fast or is it a slow storm? The forecast has certainly changed on this storm cell over the past few days. Any speed and direction would be apprecited
ReplyDeleteIt will be a slightly fast storm, and should have an average speed of 25km/h in it's lifetime, and may reach 30km/h. You see, typhoons move, because they are being pushed by trade winds. And if the trade winds is strong, the typhoon moves faster. So if the eye of a Typhoon is moving at 25km/h, that means that the trade winds is blowing at 25km/h too.
DeleteBut in some cases where typhoons don't move much at all, or even become stationary, due to a lack of steering flow, which often causes their field of circulation to become much larger, making it further stationary. A good example was Tropical Storm Talas of 2011 which at one time, managed to be completely stationary for 24hours!
Hi there.whats your prediction on this next storm forming up regarding speed, direction and intensity,do u think its going to form quickly and shoot north like the last one?
ReplyDeleteIt should intensify into a category 3 or 4 typhoon before hitting Taiwan. The system is already starting to develop in the Philippine sea within that trough of low pressure we have been looking at for the past 2 days.
DeleteThanks for making this website. I looked for 5 minutes and couldn't find relevant info on the typhoon heading towards the Philippines. Then I found your site. I see the path and know they are safe in Leyte. Thanks for your work.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hope you visit my site daily. I aim to provide information that many would otherwise wouldn't find. If you have any suggestions for this site, you are free to tell me. Your contributions are welcome.
DeleteI found this site last week while trying to figure out if and when man yi would hit fukushima and i have to say GOOD JOB M8! you had the most info compared to any mainstream weather site displayed in a much more "readable" way. Keep it up and tyvm
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope you visit my site daily.
DeleteThe best site I have ever found giving the updates accurately. God job.
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me how this Usagi will effect Macau
ReplyDeleteExpect winds of 50km/h by September 23, and winds of 80km/h or more by late September 23.
DeleteThe weather will gradually deteriorate, and you should expect strong winds, and heavy showers.
Stay safe dear!
~TSW2013
Thanks for all your very clear info on Usagi whilst I was visiting my son in Kao Hsiung City this last week. We planned our trips and departure around it and I am now back home in UK safe & dry which I hope you are too!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering.. could pabuk now that it has become an annular typhoon, maintain a more northern course and actually make a landing in japan or are the course predictions on him still good?
ReplyDeleteNo no no, it is moving northeast, and a Anticyclone northeast of the system should steer Pabuk northeast, before becoming a extratropical cyclone.
DeleteAnd remember a annular typhoon means that the system has become more rounder in shape, and is almost devoid of outer cloud bands. Annular typhoons typically also have a large eye.
Great site. Got you on my home page. Thanks for the hard work!
ReplyDeleteI would like to know whether the ageing monsoon would bring more strong wind and rain to my area in these next few days? I have a deep sea fishing trip that I will go to.
ReplyDeleteLocation: Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Thank you.
Ricky
p/s: I go to your site almost everyday! Keep up the good work and thank you again for the detailed informations, really helpful.
Although the monsoon is ageing, it is being enhanced by Tyohoon Wutip, far north of Borneo, meaning you can expect wind speeds of 5-20km/h and heavy rain with some thunderstorms.
DeleteIf there is really a thunderstorm, it will bring gust up to 60km/h or more.
Stay safe, enjoy Asia!
What is your prediction on the effect tropical storm Pitow will have on Korea?
ReplyDeleteNot much for now, as the latest forecast shown it will miss Korea by 150 kilometers. However, Korea should expect gusty winds and heavy rain by October 11 as the eastern side of the storm brushes Korea.
DeleteThank you for your extremely informative posts. Holding thumbs for the Korean F1 grand prix this weekend.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Fitow is gonna miss Korea!
DeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteWe are planning to travel to tokyo this wednesday that is 23rd october 2013. Is it safe to travel with the impeding typoon franciso on the way.should we cancel our travel plans?
advise much aporeciated
thankyou
The final decision is yours to make. What I do know is that if you do get to Tokyo, light to heavy rain will affect Tokyo by October 25, and all the rainy and windy weather will stop by late October 26, and October 27 should be sunny as a High pressure area quickly moves into Japan.
DeleteSo, I would say it is okay to go to Japan, but stay safe from the rain, cold, radiation, and wind.
Why would the typhoon affect Tokyo for such a short period of time? Because of it's speed.
By the time it nears Japan, it should be moving at 30+km/h.
thanks turkce dublaj film izle
ReplyDeleteIs it forward to my country (Cambodia)?
ReplyDeleteYour text says Haiyan is 125km/h but the Weather Underground panel says 120miles per hour. Quite an important difference. Whch is it?
ReplyDeleteI just did a quick update on Haiyan.
DeleteDavid Swiggum, you are also looking at information that was before it was updated too... so don't get confused. :D
DeleteRegarding Haiyan, I have an office and sailboat and family in western visayas and currently I cant get back there until next week. I plot the course as possibly hitting north of Panay, even swiping Boracay, Saturday 9th evening time on current velocity, but winds for iloilo city could be severe if catogory 3, let alone 4. Comments appreciated
ReplyDeleteYeah, Typhoon Haiyan is going to pose a huge threat to the Philippines, for it's strength and size. Stay safe.
DeleteHow is your predictions on boracay island? You think the typhoon gonna hit hard there? Thanks
ReplyDeleteBoracay island, will see winds of 200km/h with heavy squally showers and there will be swells and large waves in the sea on late November 8.
DeleteThis is bad, very bad Typhoon Haiyan is nothing to joke about. I believe that if you can you should get out of the impact area ASAP! The winds will extend much further out then what you are thinking. With the course it is going northern Surigao the south side of the storm will get hit just as hard as Samar and Leyte. And for sure this is not good for the people in Bohal.
ReplyDeleteYep, this is really one huge, powerful typhoon!
DeleteHow is your predictions on boracay island? You think the typhoon gonna hit hard there? Thanks
ReplyDeletethank you for consistent updates on typhoon H, your site keeps me inform and gives me assurance. am from Palau but lives in USA so i really appreciate the site and hard work behind it... thank you very much...fightin:-)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment, Gee Saiske
DeleteTo the families of people in the Philipines who died in the Haiyan typhoon, we are sorry for your sad loss.
ReplyDeleteOur Friday (November 8) here in Jakarta was very cloudy and by evening was stormy (downpours and strong wind.) Was it the same system as Haiyan's? Thanks so much for running this blog, very useful info!
ReplyDeleteNo, there was literally no typhoon in your area. And Typhoon Haiyan did not affected your area, and your region will never be affected by any typhoon because it is close to the equator.
DeleteSatellite imagery on that day showed that it was partly cloudy in the morning and thunderstorms rapidly formed by late afternoon, and strong thunderstorms can cause strong wind and downpours.
All that weather was nothing to do with Haiyan.
Hi. Thank you for this site. Glad I found this site. I am from Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines. My family still have trauma & phobia of the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hits Bohol. Few days ago, the typhoonYolanda attached central visayas. Is there anyincoming typhoons that would hit central visayas after Yolanda? We are already scared & we wanted to be ready. Do u have the exact location on which area the storm fall? I have read some post from fb that there's still 6-7 strong typhoon coming. Is that true? Highly appreciated if u can give me the details. Thank u so much for ur help.
ReplyDeleteYep there's another cyclonic system heading towards southern philippines, but this one is much weaker---a Tropical Depression with winds of only 30-55km/h. It will affect your area by tonight and will end by November 13. Expect heavy rain, showers thunderstorms, and moderate to strong winds.
DeleteHello, and is it true that there's still 6-7 strong typhoon coming? Do you expect more typhoons till the end of November in Philippines? thank you
DeleteNo , In fact Zoraida has already passed over the Philippines and has entered the South China Sea. And I overall do not expect strong typhoons to hit the philippines for the rest of this month, though I am not 100% certain.
DeleteThank u so much for ur reply. I heard some post in facebook that Zoraida would make landfall to Tagbilaran City. Is that true? My family is 5 minutes drive from city port. I am so worried.
ReplyDeleteNo Zoraida's circulation center will not directly hit Tagbilaran City, but will bring cloudy weather with squally rain and possibly some thunderstorms. Expect winds of 20km/h to 40kmh/ in Tagbilaran City, so overall there isn't much to worry about as Zoraida is a weak storm.
DeleteAnyway, thanks for your comments.
Thank you ve much for this helpful page.
ReplyDeleteIt helped me staying up to date during my vietnam visit.
Thumbs up
Thank you for your hard work. Keep it up. This page is very very helpful.
ReplyDeleteAs of today, is there any other typhoon coming to the Philippines?
ReplyDeleteNo, there is no typhoon expected to affect the Philippines in the next 72 hours.
DeleteAs of today, is there any other typhoon coming to the Philippines?
ReplyDeleteNo. And no typhoon is expected from now to the end of November.
Deletewill there be typhoon/storms coming in the philippines this month?
ReplyDeleteNot likely. It's winter now! Conditions are now too cold and windy for typhoons to develop.
DeleteI am from Tacloban City as of the moment I`m in Cebu City when I left home severe rain still falling us there a possibility that this rain is caused by upcoming typhoon this month. thanks alot
DeleteI just found this page and like the content so far. It is Monday, January 6, 2014 and I have heard (from 2 sources) that there may be another typhoon or super typhoon coming to The Philippines around January 10 ~ 18 and because I am planning a move during that time, am looking for more information than I am finding elsewhere. In fact I'm finding no information other than a link posted in Facebook on Friday.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry! The latest computer model shows a Tropical Storm or Severe Tropical Storm (Not a typhoon! but a really weak typhoon!) will hit southern Philippines. The storm we be very minor compared to Haiyan.
DeleteHi. Good day! I am so worried with the typhoon Kajiki. My home town Bohol-Philippines is signal #2 now. My family is living at Tagbilaran City. Due to previous typhoon especially like typoon Haiyan, people nowadays paranoid & scared of hearing typhoon. PAGASA says areas under signal #s 1 & 2 should prepare for possible flash floods & landslides. Those living in coastal areas under signal # 2 warned of possible storm surges. I am so worried. How is Tagbilaran City, Bohol- Philippines status for this floods & storm surges?
ReplyDeleteDon't expect a storm surge from Tropical Depression Kajiki, but with expected winds in Tagbilaran City to be at 30-45km/h, there will be swells in the sea. Expect moderate to heavy rain. This storm will not pose any threat either than the risk of slight flooding in southern Philippines. As 02w, Kajiki is moving fast, the cloudy and rainy weather will last for around 1-3 days. Don't be worried, as this storm is weak.
DeleteAppreciated your reply. It was such a pleasure having this site. You really help me lessen my worries. Honestly, I recommended this site to all my friends. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. God bless!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your site and all your hard work.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about 05w. Is it going to be a weak storm? I have a trip to mindanao (davao city) from april 6-10 and I'm worried about this storm. Should I cancel my trip?
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a weak storm and may never make it to typhoon status.
DeleteI don't suggest that you cancel your trip, but I do suggest you should go ahead and take shelter
since this isn't going to be a strong storm. .
Even if it does become a typhoon, it won't be a strong one.
DeleteI live in the cyclone Ita affected area, so i decided to start a blog video journaling the effects of the cyclone. I am hoping & crossing my fingers my home remains intact. My Blog Is here if you want the latest from a local perspective! http://cycloneita.blogspot.com.au
ReplyDeleteI never understood how some current anticyclonic sytem somewhere has weakened Peipah.
ReplyDeleteWill there be typhoon in hong kong in May ?
ReplyDeleteHi Sir/Madam. I am here now in Singapore. My family in the Phillipines will be having a reunion in Bohol, Philippines. As i will be attending this reunion, i need to check if there's typhoon coming. The reunion would be on August 18, 2014. I need to travel through fast ferry boat from Cebu City to Tagbilaran City-Bohol on August 18, 2014 and from Tagbilaran City-Bohol to Cebu City on August 20, 2014. Please let me know as i really had a phobia last year on Typhoon Yolanda. Thank you so much for this site. Really helped me a lot!
ReplyDeleteI have really appreciated having this site to help me protect my loved ones in SE Asia. When I open the site, the following message appears at the top of the page, "Our satellite analysis is currently unavailable" and it has not been available for weeks. May I ask what is the problem with the satellite imagery and when can we expect to have it available once again? Thank you in advance for your response.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry guys. I just don't have enough time to update this blog, so it's closed.
DeleteI have really appreciated having this site for me to help keep my friends and family safe. For weeks now, every time I visit the site, I see this message, "Our satellite analysis is currently unavailable." Why and when will it be available again? Soon I hope. Thanks for all your work.
ReplyDeleteReally happy to have this site.
ReplyDeleteI will be visiting Japan tokyo and Hokkaido on 1 sept to 15 sept.
Will really appreciate if you could advise me on the typhoon
